Established in 1988, the purpose of the Ethno Business Council of British Columbia is:

1. To recognize and celebrate the achievements of New-Canadian Entrepreneurs.

2. To provide a forum that creates an awareness of the opportunities and programs available for New-Canadians and immigrant entrepreneurs.

3. To provide a place where community and business organizations may come together to network, share information and coordinate their activities that support New-Canadians and immigrant entrepreneurs.

4. To encourage and support entrepreneurs who are New-Canadians and immigrants to British Columbia in the establishment and development of their businesses.

To acknowledge the multicultural business contribution to our B.C. economy, the Ethno Business Council of BC. in conjunction with all of the sponsors, is presenting awards to outstanding New-Canadian Entrepreneurs. These business people operate in both domestic and international markets. This recognition promotes the growing multicultural image of B.C. business.
